Mt. Gilead Mondays is a program for home-school students and students in school systems that have shortened their week to exclude Mondays. Each Mt. Gilead Monday event has its own history-related theme, craft and games. The program takes place in a historic one room classroom with a schoolmarm dressed in period costume. Children may also dress in period costume if they choose, but it is not required. Parents are responsible for transportation. Children will need to bring a sack lunch. The cost is $12.00 per participant. Reservations are required and can be made by calling Clay County Historic Sites at 816-736-8500.
