The Lee’s Summit 16 and Shawnee 18 Theaters are dedicated to helping families with small children feel comfortable at the movie theater. Both locations provide theaters with play gyms inside for your young child to play before the movie!

Theaters have a screen-side play area for toddlers, and a full-size climbing playground for kids. B&B Theaters invites guests to arrive 20 minutes before showtime for fun and play, while music and other entertainment is onscreen. After the twenty minute play block is over, guests will take their seats and the lights will go down for a kid-friendly feature. Younger movie-lovers (recommended age 2-8) can enjoy B&B like never before. 🙂
Play at Loose Park (or Other Kansas City Parks)
The 2018 Sprint Family Fun Days kicks off with The Capes & Crowns festival, Saturday, May 12 from 11 AM – 3 PM. Come enjoy fun activities with your family at the Kansas City Power & Light District. The kiddos can have photos taken with their favorite super hero or princess during character meet-and-greets, and enjoy a Castle Moon Bounce, Super Hero Bounce House, a trackless train and more fun summer activities for kids! Admission to the event is FREE, but there is a fee for some premium activities.
The Ceramic Cafe studio is open all summer long for your kids to create unique works of art. They always welcome walk-ins and artists of all ages, so all families are welcome to stop in. Their staff will help you choose the perfect ceramic piece, and provide the supplies to help you create a masterpiece of your own. Paint your pottery piece or create a beautiful work of glass in the awesome pottery studio. The process to paint, glaze and fire the piece takes about a week.

No matter your child’s experience with swimming, it is important to continue to expose them to water through regular lessons. Come explore the sport of basketball in an interactive museum. The College Basketball Experience is a fun summer activity for kids to learn about the history of basketball. Tickets are a little as $12 and the museum is open weekly, Wednesday to Sunday. Save $2 on a single admission, but you can go pick up a few copies from your local library 😉

Oxford School is one of the oldest schools in the state of Kansas. The school was moved from its original location at 135th and Mission Road in March 2003 for families to come & explore the history at Ironwoods Park.
