Mary Poppins Returns Review
RUNNING TIME: 2 hours 10 minutes
The new movie picks up at the same sweet house on Cherry Tree Lane where grown up Michael Banks lives together with his two children.
His sister, Jane, lives in a nearby flat and remains an active part of the family.
After suffering a loss and several hardships over the previous year, Michael finds himself in at risk of losing his home.
Just as everything seems to be falling apart in his life, Mary Poppins returns.
Is the movie practically perfect in every way?
This movie, in true Disney spirit, is quirky and fun.
The lively music and beautiful imagery will keep audiences captivated throughout the film.
Moviegoers who fell in love with the original film will undoubtedly appreciate the references sprinkled in during the movie.
What Do We Think About Mary Poppins Returns?
Although the movie couldn’t possibly live up to its predecessor, it’s one that will likely be appreciated for many years to come.
Emily Blunt does a marvels job at capturing the personality and mannerisms that Julie Andrews brought to the character before.
The storyline, although clearly a continuance of “Mary Poppins” does stand alone on its own for fans who haven’t seen the first movie. If you’re looking for a fun film to take the whole family to this holiday break, check out “Mary Poppins Returns”.
Overall, I give it a solid A rating.
