Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom: Movie Review!

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Movie Review

As someone that grew up a Jurassic Park fan, I was definitely excited to see this one.

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom is the second installment to the Jurassic World franchise. It stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help) and of course the dinosaurs!

Dino Time!

RATING: PG-13

RUNNING TIME: 2 hours 8 minutes

When the movie first starts, it picks up 3 years after the theme park “Jurassic World” was destroyed by uncaged dinosaurs. I felt the Fallen Kingdom had a slow start but did a decent job filling in the viewers of what happened in the previous film. Fallen Kingdom also prepares it’s viewers with some foreshadowing of the events to come.

Once you make it past the backstory and get caught up with the characters, you find yourself torn between wanting to let nature take its course or venturing out with philanthropists to save the dinosaurs. All the while trying to flee from an island full of carnivorous, gigantic beasts from an active volcano.

Check Out This Great Flick

Outside of a few political jabs and heart string pulling moments, this film was well written, funny and visually enticing!

Overall this was a much “different” version of previous Jurassic Parks /World. There seemed to be more emotion present between the lead characters and the animals as opposed the films of the past.

I do recommend if you have younger children, under the age of 8, it might be a little intense. Some scenes were a tad frightening for my 11, 10, and 7-year-old.

I would rate Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom a solid 7 out of 10. Definitely a great movie to see with older kiddos!

Jurassic World Cast:

Pratt and Howard return alongside executive producers Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.  They are joined by co-stars James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall and Isabella Sermon, while BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles.

Looking for movie reviews for other flicks? We’ve got that too. Adrift, Christopher Robin (Winnie the Pooh movie) or Ant Man and The Wasp are great options for older kiddos!
