Christopher Robin Movie Review: The Modern Winnie the Pooh
Christopher Robin Movie Review
We can all agree there’s nothing quite like a sweet, timeless story of Winnie the Pooh.
The new Christopher Robin movie (do you remember who that is?) captures your heart and leaves you with that “feel good” tingle.
Disney’s new follow up to the classic Winnie The Pooh story, Christopher Robin, promises to deliver just that…but does it live up to the expectations for moviegoers?

The Christopher Robin movie follows up with the characters in the Hundred Acre Wood, like Winnie the Pooh, as well as Christopher himself.
Christopher Robin is now an adult living in London with a family of his own.
Times have drastically changed since the days when Christopher played in the Hundred Acre Wood with Pooh and friends. War, the everyday stresses of raising a family, and pressure at work have changed him.
Christopher’s family is feeling the effects of his absence in their lives.
Winnie the Pooh, in a search for his Hundred Acre Wood friends, ends up exactly where he’s needed – in the heart of London. Right where adult Christopher Robin lives.
What is the Best Part of Christopher Robin?
The visual effects in the film were, by and far, my favorite part.
The characters were exactly as you imagine they should be and both the London. Also, the Hundred Acre Wood backdrops are beautifully done, helping you to get into the storyline as a viewer.
The story itself is sweet for both children and adults alike. The Christopher Robin movie gives a lesson to everyone, even though each gets something different out of it.
My seven-year-old daughter, Charlotte, has been a fan of Winnie the Pooh for just about her entire life. Although slow moving at the start of the movie, once the story picked up its pace, Charlotte really started getting into it.
For Charlotte, she enjoyed seeing the fun characters that she’s grown to love over the years “come to life” on the big screen. I appreciated the message about family and the importance of taking time to do nothing with your family. Which, according to Pooh, is sometimes the very best thing to do.
It reminded me, with a crazy busy schedule of my own, to take time to spend with my family…a reminder I think we all need every once in a while.
Overall, this movie was great to see. It’s sweet, has beautiful imagery, and great messaging for families. On a scale from 1 to 10, I give “Christopher Robin” a 7. It’s well done! We recommend checking out the Christopher Robin movie at a theater near you. If you need help finding a theater, check out the B&B locations….there are TONS all across Kansas City!
