November 20th to December 9th you can drop off letters to Santa at The View (13500 Byars) or Santa’s Mailbox at Grandview City Hall (12500 Main Street). Clearly write the name and address of your child so Santa can send a letter back!

** Must drop off by December 9th to get a return letter sent back to you!

Knights of Lights: A Renaissance Christmas Extravaganza

November 27th to December 27th (NOT on 11/30-12/2 & 12/25)

This year, KC Ren Fest is transforming their festival grounds into a beautiful holiday light show you can drive through! There will be a 25 foot tall Christmas tree, Disco Jungle, Giant Gum Drop Chandelier, Snowflake Chapel & so much more holiday fun. You can also drop off your letters to Santa at St. Nick’s mailbox!

The event will run from 5 to 10 pm each night with last cars entering at 9:45.

The holidays at the Overland Park Arboretum are magical! Personally, we think this is one of the best Christmas events in Kansas City…

Take a walk, enjoy a wagon ride, listen to music, and enjoy the holiday lights during this fun family friendly event. Explore the trails of the Overland Park Arboretum as they are lit up for the holiday season. There will be miles of candles and lights that line the trails.

This year will look a little different with more animated lights and more distancing between groups! Each admission will be for a specific time to manage crowd flows, as well as additional time added so everyone can attend!

** Santa will not be in attendance for 2020.

According to their website, “Breakfast will include a bag of Chris Cakes® pancake mix, a letter you can send to Santa, a City of Gardner ornament, candy canes, and other goodies.”

Start your morning off with pancakes and Santa! Kits are $10 a piece and can be picked up between 8 am and 5 pm outside Gardener City Hall.

Paradise Park should be a main stop for kids holiday activities & Christmas events in Kansas City – they’re December all month long!

Christmas comes alive each holiday season, where your family can enjoy tons of fun Christmas activities. Hang out in the Discovery Play area for themed Adventure Times each week:

  • Gingerbread Week (Dec 1st – 7th) – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… and smell like it too! Visit during the first week of December for some good ol’ fashioned, gingerbread fun.
  • Penguin Week (Dec 8th – 14th) – Whether it’s the way they waddle across the snow, their tastefully tuxedo-ed “attire,” or their playful personalities, penguins are such lovable creatures. When cold weather comes, it feels like a good time to learn a little more about our feathered friends from down south!
  • Toys & Gifts (Dec 15th –  21st) – The theme this week is all about the wonder and fun of giving and receiving toys and gifts as we anticipate the joy of the season.
  • Christmas Week (Dec 22nd – 28th) – We HO-HO-HOPE you’ll join in for some of the fun they have planned for kids and their grown-ups in Discovery Play this special week at Paradise Park
  • New Year’s Celebration (Dec 29th – Jan 4th) – In this last week of 2018, they’re celebrating the New Year in Discovery Play Adventure Time!

Ginormous Gingerbread House & Snow Indoors (All December) – For the month of December, their giant, two-story Foam Factory transforms into a Ginormous Gingerbread House where snow falls magically indoors amidst a colorful world of flying foam balls with everyone working together to fire the balls through air-powered cannons, blasters and geyser.
