Kansas City Sunflower Fields & Farms in Bloom to Visit (Open Aug to Sept)
Kansas City’s sunflower fields will be in bloom this fall. It’s the perfect time to get out of the house and enjoy the Kansas state flower, so be sure to visit these beautiful sunflower farms.
Many of them allow visitors, walking and picture taking. It’s a unique thing to do with kids and makes for a great photo op….
When Both Do Sunflowers Bloom in Kansas?
Sunflowers are in full bloom from late August to the middle of September. Sunflower crops will reach their full height at the end of August beginning of September, so there’s a limited time to enjoy!
Where are the Sunflower Fields in Kansas City?
Sunflowers bloom from August through September in most areas, so Fall is the perfect time to visit sunflower farms & fields. Some patches may be an hour drive away, but they’re totally worth it. You could even turn it into a day trip or weekend getaway!

Grinter Farms Sunflowers

Cost: Free, but can leave donations
It’s best to visit on weekdays as it gets quite crowded on weekends. You can expect some flowers to bloom in late August/early September, as well as more blooms in October. Call (785) 749-1325 to learn more.
Berry Hill U-Pick Farm Sunflowers
5950 Southeast Croco Rd. Berryton, Kansas
Cost: Free to enter, but can make donations. Must pay for anything you pick.
The sunflower field and u-pick farm expects some sunflower blooms late August/early September. So, start planning your visit! Call (785) 633-7374 for more info.
Eleanor’s Sunflower Field
18605 S Hwy 75 Scranton, KS 66537
Cost: Free
This sunflower patch expects their sunflowers to bloom around August 20th. Visitors are welcome from sunrise to sundown as long as there are yellow petals blooming, so stop by in late August. You can also check out their Facebook page for updates or call (620) 212-4964.
Gieringers Family Orchard Sunflower Patch

Cost: $2 per person to access all fields – berries, sunflowers & more.
This farm features tons of u-pick berries, as well as sunflower patch. There’s tons of things to do, so stop by to explore!
Pharis Farm

Cost: Free
Come visit the sunflowers in Clay County! While the sunflower field is not huge, there are beautiful flowers near Liberty. If you live in the Northland, this is the perfect activity!
Atkins-Johnson Farm
4109 NE Pleasant Valley Rd. Gladstone, MO 64119
Cost: Free
This farm in Gladstone features sunflowers in the fall, as well as other produce such as corn! They hold regular events, so check out their page for upcoming things to do.
Russell Sunflower Patch
18220 Hwy. B Richmond, MO
Cost: Free to visit
This sunflower patch is in full bloom from beginning of August through the end of Fall. They also offer on-site mini photo shoots by their daughter. (10 or 20 minute options) You can find more information about that on their website.
Powell Gardens
Cost: Regular admission price
They usually plant sunflowers of multiple varieties in their gardens. It’s a great place to take family pictures too!

Britt’s Garden Acres in Manhattan
1000 S. Scenic Drive Manhattan, KS 66503
Cost: $5 per person, 2 & under free.
This sunflower farm is 30 acres, with sunflowers available for purchase ($1 per head). They estimate sunflowers will be in bloom by the end of August and last through September.
You can also pick up seasonal produce. Check online for updates!
Peterson Farm Sunflower Trails
10729 S. Simpson Rd. Assaria, KS 67416
Cost: $5/person or $10/family of up to 5 ($2 for additional family members)
Come tour these sunflower fields near Lindsborg, KS. Tentative dates are late August to early September, but check online for updates as it depends on sunflower blooms. Restrooms on-site!
Sunflower Fields at Kansas Maze
13209 E. 82nd Ave. Buhler, Ks 67522
Cost: $7 per person, which includes admission, 1 sunflower & access to jumping pillow!
Check out the 20 acres of sunflowers from from the end of August to September. Sunflowers are expected to be in full bloom then, so it’s perfect for pictures!
There will also be other activities, such as human foosball, a tunnel slide and lookout tower.
Klausmeyer Farm and Pumpkin Patch in Clearwater (Near Wichita)

Cost: $2 for sunflower field access
This is a dairy farm that started a sunflower field a few years back. It was a huge hit!
Ride the farm trailer to and from the sunflower field, which is great for small children. The sunflowers bloom in August and September.
Sunflower Festival at Walter’s Pumpkin Patch

Cost: Admission $14.95
Each year, the Sunflower Festival is held in August. This year, come visit the last 2 weekends in August, 10:00am- 4:00pm.
There’s a giant sunflower maze you can walk through, as well as sunflowers for purchase.
Goodland (Sunflower City)
Goodland in Sherman County is known as “Sunflower City” with the most sunflowers in all of Kansas! You can just drive through the countryside and check out tons of sunflowers
