RiverFest 4th of July Festival

Richard L. Berkley Riverfront Park: 1298 Riverfront Dr. KCMO

Wednesday, July 4th from 4 to 10 pm

Bring your lawn chairs for the big 4th of July party in Kansas City. Riverfest takes place at Berkley Riverfront Park. You can enjoy family friendly activities and entertainment, food trucks, live music with 2 stages, and a huge fireworks display!

Tickets are $5, but 12 & under are free. Find tickets, directions and more on the Riverfest website.

Parkville 4th of July Celebration

English Landing Park: 100 Main Street Parkville, MO

Wednesday, July 4th from 10 am to 10 pm

Parkville will hold a 4th of July parade at 10 am and a full day of festivities to follow. The best themed “floats” or wagons in the parade win money…cold hard cash! There will be a carnival with vendors, carnival rides, live performances, a sky diving exhibition, beer garden, pancake breakfast & of course a fantastic fireworks show.

The fireworks show starts at 9:45 pm at Grigsby Field. Check the website for specific locations for each event activity.

Olathe Red, White & Blue Fireworks

College Boulevard Activity Complex: 11031 S. Valley Road Olathe, Kansas

Wednesday, July 4th at 9:45 pm

Come enjoy a huge fireworks display from the City of Olathe on Wednesday the 4th of July! The fireworks start at 9:45 pm, but they recommend arriving early for anticipated traffic. There will be parking at Olathe Northwest High School, Meadow Lane Elementary, and the College Boulevard Activity Complex.

Independence Day: 1860’s Style

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm: 1200 E. Kansas City Road Olathe, Kansas

Wednesday, July 4th from 10 am to 4 pm

Your family can explore the Stagecoach Stop & Farm! Independence Day was the biggest celebration of the year in 1860, so come experience a true Independence Day! You can ride the stagecoach, meet Uncle Same, enjoy old-time food like pie, ice cream, or root beer floats, & other family friendly activities. There will be:

  • 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. A Declaration of Independence reading & cannon firing
  • 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Marching drills & paper hat making

All activities included with regular site admission. Adults are $7, Children $5 & kids ages 4 & below are free. Olathe residents receive $2 off.

Fireworks 1860’s Style: Family Fun Night

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm: 1200 E. Kansas City Road Olathe, Kansas

Thursday, July 5th from 6 to 10 pm

Everyone is welcome at this FREE community event on ! There will be a living history exhibit with the Mahaffie House, Agricultural Heritage, Livestock Barn, cooking demonstrations on an authentic cook stove, & stagecoach rides. There will be live music by the Olathe Civic Band at 7:30 pm and Gum Springs Serenaders at 8:30 pm. You can also hear a reading from the Deceleration of Independence at 9:20 p.m. with a cannon fire that will signal the start of the 1860s style Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Details can be found at Mahaffie.org.

Celebrate Olathe

Come enjoy a FREE night of fun from Olathe Live! with Liverpool and special guests The M80’s. There will be food trucks for your family to enjoy & vehicles to explore at the Touch-A-Truck. There will be free parking at Olathe Northwest for your convenience.

Gladstone Independence Day Celebration

Wednesday, July 4th from 7 to 10 pm

There will be live entertainment start at 7 pm from Mango Yango, including country, rock, & dance songs from the 50s to 70’s. The North Star Community Band will perform, then there will be a fireworks display. The viewing is FREE and you can find more information about parking here.

Oak Grove Fireworks Display

Wednesday July 4th starting at 6 pm (gates open at 5:30)

The event will be filled with fun family activities including face painting, inflatables, balloon animals, tethered hot air balloon rides, live music, food trucks, and a great fireworks show.  The event is totally free except for the food trucks. The fireworks show will start around 9:30 pm, depending on when it gets dark.

Liberty 4th Fest

Tuesday, July 3rd from 6 to 10 pm

Free family activities include DJs, inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, fishing, and lawn games. The beer garden and food trucks will run from 6 to 10 pm and there will be a corn hole tournament at 6:45. Enjoy live music from 8 to 10 before the fireworks start at 10!

There will be kids activities starting at 6: games, food trucks, inflatables, and live music. There will be a special program honoring service men and women at 8:30, then the fireworks begin at 9:30.

Enjoy food trucks and live music from the Overland Park Civic Band & The Elders from 6 to 8 pm. Then, the fireworks display begins around 9:45 pm. Parking will be at Corporate Woods.

Smithville Lake Fireworks

Smithville Lake: Smithville, MO

Come enjoy fabulous fireworks at the lake! The fireworks show begins at dark! Event will be held at the north end of the Smithville Dam. or at Smith’s Fork Park. There is also a group watching the Fireworks on the Water check out how you can paddle board, kayak, or canoe to watch the fireworks too.

Lenexa 4th of July Community Parade

Join Lenexa for their annual hometown parade to celebrate Independence Day. The parade is one of the longest running Fourth of July parades in the Kansas City area! Event admission is FREE to all, so come enjoy!

The Switch concert begins at 7:30 pm and fireworks start at 9:30. There will be free admission to the community event and free inflatables for kids. Wednesday, July 4th starting at 11 am

There will be a big fireworks display starting at dark. A kids bike parade will also start at 11 am.  You can enjoy the pool from noon to 8 pm, where there will be pool games & contests, as well as free family fun & activities like face painting and inflatables. The family activities are free. There will also be live music from 7:30 to 9 pm.

Lansing Fireworks Celebration

Kenneth W. Bernard Community Park: 15650 Gilman Road Lansing, KS

Friday, June 29th at 6 pm

There will be free parking at the event until 7pm & a shuttle from Lansing High School (the last shuttle leaves at 9:15 pm). There will be inflatables for kids & other fun rides too! Each ride costs $1 or you can purchase wrist bands for $12. This is one of the largest fireworks shows in the area, so come enjoy with your family! There will be live music & music to go along with the fireworks.

The flag display will be up at 6 am. There will be live music from the Dudes at 10 am and the Merriam Farmer’s Market until 1 pm.

American Legion Band of Greater Kansas City will perform at 1 pm. There will be food vendors for you to enjoy during the concert.
Saturday, July 7 
The flag display ends. Your family can enjoy the farmers market from 7 am to 1 pm & there will also be a face painting event.

Booms & Blooms at Powell Gardens

You do have to pay admission to the park for this event & there is a $5 Parking Fee. Find a seat on the lawn to enjoy the colorful flowers and fireworks. There will be many fun activities furing the day & a performance by the Lee’s Summit Symphony during the fireworks. Powell Gardens members can attend for free.

Weston Fourth of July Community Celebration

Wednesday July 4th from 10 am to 10 pm

The day will be filled with fun family events and things to do. Main Street will be closed for the festivities. There will be a parade, family fun, music, watermelon eating contest, free snow cones, basket auction, and of course fireworks! Check online for the full schedule.

Raymore 4th of July Celebration

Saturday, June 30th from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 pm

There will be a car show from 4 to 6:30 pm and live music starts at 7! The event is free to attend and will include food trucks, fun kids activities, a live band, moonwalk, kids giveaways, and the fireworks, which start at 9:30.

Before you head out to view the fireworks, check your destinations site to see if there are any rules and guidelines for pets, chairs and beverages you can bring. Some places are located on school and church campuses so glass and alcohol may be restricted. Also, fireworks have gotten louder over the years, make sure you bring noise reduction headphones or earplugs. Don’t forget the snacks and blankets too! Have a great 4th of July.
