County Fairs Around the Kansas City Metros

Grab the kiddos and head to the nearest corny dog stand… it’s fair time around the metro! We found the best county fairs and fests near you.

We all know that county fairs serve up some yummy food and exciting rides, but county fairs are also a great way to support local shops and vendors, create memories and enjoy some quality time with the family.

So, now that summer is approaching, mark your calendars for one (or more) of these state fairs or county fairs near you.

Miami County Fair

Paola, KS

July 18th-26th.

Wyandotte County Fair

Kansas City, KS

The Wyandotte County Fair is full of food, fun and festival fun. Enjoy the vintage car shows, market place, carnival and other fun fair attractions.

Douglas County Fair

Lawrence, KS

July 28th- August 1st.

The Douglas County Fair will feature the Kenny Gambler Band and Quite Frankly among other performers in their 2020 county fair. There will also be 4H exhibits, Ice Cream contest, fair food and fun.

Johnson County Fair

Gardner, KS

July 26th- August 1st.

The Johnson County Fair in Kansas is one you don’t want to miss. Catch a demolition Derby, parade and all the fun that a county fair has to offer including delicious fair food.

Leavenworth County Fair

This weekend fair is where history is celebrated. This festival includes crafts, music, a parade and a family friendly carnival.

Kansas State Fair

Missouri State Fair

August 18th – August 23rd.

The Missouri State Fair is one of the biggest county fairs. From livestock showing, live entertainment, fun stuff just for kids and all the cotton candy you can take.

Grain Valley Fair

Sept. 11th-12th.

The Grain Valley Fair is a two day fair packed with attractions the whole family will love. Shop the local vendors, dance the weekend away to live music, catch the parade and more. Plus, feast on fair favorites like BBQ and Kettle Corn. Don’t forget to stay for the fireworks.

Higginsville Country Fair

This county fair includes art exhibits, a kids playground, pageants, parades,contests, local vendors, rodeo and more.

Downtown Days Festival Lee’s Summit

June 5th- June 7th

SE Main and SE 3rd Lee’s Summit, MO

This 3 day family festival is located in downtown Lee’s Summit. Enjoy kid friendly carnival, live entertainment and of course all the yummy local food.


June 19th-20th

This local street fair is open for the entire family to enjoy. There will be tons of food, live music and a spectacular bottomless brunch. This fair is more than a celebration of local beers and breweries, it’s an experience for the whole family. The best part is, kids 12 and under are FREE.

Parkville Days

August 21st- August 23rd

This free family festival features live music, parade, local retailers and food vendors plus a carnival. Enjoy the last days of summer at this special festival.
