We strive to create a pageant that is all about being Natural, Affordable, Honest, Fair, & Organized. Beautiful Me is a pageant that has been designed to try and bring pageants back to the basics. We do not allow any fake enhancers. There is no fake eyelashes, no fake hair, no flippers(fake teeth), there is no makeup allowed on babies or small children, no spray tanning will be allowed at the pageant. We believe that being natural is beautiful at BEAUTIFUL ME PRODUCTIONS. We also are not a big fan of big huge pageant hair, expensive over the top high glitz dresses or excessive, dramatic makeup on children. We want kids to look like kids and we want to have a pageant where a parent can bring their child and compete and not feel like they need all of that (expensive dress, big pageant hair or heavy makeup) in order for their child to score well. Beautiful Me is the pageant you have been asking for. We prefer inexpensive flower girl and off the rack dresses and attire. You can wear a custom dress as long as it is not high glitz (meaning very minimal rhinestones). We are not looking for the contestant with expensive attire on. Several of our national winners have received modeling contracts with agents in New York & California. For you, we have a private nursing room with a trickling water fall, fragrant candles, and soft lullabys. Our changing room is complete with diapers in all sizes. For kids, we have a play area with movies, coloring books, toys, and even a slide. The studio is located on five acres completely landscaped with portraits in mind. We have four water features-inlcuding a very large walk-in waterfall-, a meandering creek, cottage garden, antique iron gate and gazebo, beach area, fishing pond, and much more. The more comfortable you and your children are the easier it will be to capture them, being them! The Session: No waiting, No rushing! We always schedule atleast 1 hour of session time. It takes awhile for a child to feel comfortable and be themselves, so we don't rush them. There is plenty of time for feeding, changing, and cuddling. It is best to only have one or two people in the camera room. We want to make it fun and not let them feel as though they are 'preforming'. Smiles will happen, but that is not all we are looking for. Camp WIN Sports Camp for Young Girls
Camp WIN has everything you're looking for to EMPOWER young girls of the Kansas City area. Camp WIN is WIN for KC's signature youth event introducing girls ages 9-12 to fourteen different sports and fitness activities throughout the four-day camp.
Ages 9-12 Registration will open Friday, February 3, 2012 (in conjunction with the WIN for KC Women's Sports Awards Celebration). High school athletes serve as team captains and role models throughout the week. Instructors and coaches volunteer from local universities, colleges, high schools and other area sports organizations. In 2011, the following organizations were involved (to name only a few): The week also includes WIN for KC's LIVE ACTIVE program that teaches the girls on topics such as leadership, teamwork, goal-setting and resiliency. As I watched the magical metamorphosis of the Monarch caterpillar turning into a chrysalis, I knew that I could never tire of raising butterflies. I wanted to be able to share this passion and love with others, but how? My wonderful husband stepped in and researched ways in which we could provide butterflies, and found that Butterflies can be released at special events to celebrate weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, or to honor loved ones who have passed on. We also want to share these amazing creatures with children as they actively engage in science. Raising caterpillars is a favorite past-time of mine. I used to go out and collect Monarch caterpillars from Milkweed plants and then feed them fresh Milkweed leaves every day. They would always pupate while I was away at school or off playing with my friends. I always missed it. I hope that by providing caterpillars, and even chrysalises, I can share the wonder of pupation and emergence with a new generation. It is my goal to help schools place a cup with 3-5 caterpillars, or even a chrysalis, in every child's hands. Kaleidoscope - Hallmark's Children's Art Center Children of all ages and their adults are welcome to attend 40-minute Family Art Sessions. These special sessions are offered year-round based on area school schedules. All children must be accompanied by an adult and all adults must be accompanied by a child. We recommend you bring at least one adult for every 4 children in your group. Free tickets are available on a first come basis until any session becomes full. Reservations are only required for groups of 15 or more people (children and adults). Groups of 15 or more who arrive without a reservation risk not being admitted due to space limitations. Little Bike Riders - Kids on Two Wheels Advantages of a Strider Bike: The Strider bike holds several advantages over ordinary beginner's bikes. Designed for children ages 18 months to five years old, the bike helps a little one quickly learn balance, steering and coordination and develop confidence.Trikes and bikes with training wheels don't! Traditional bicycles place too much of the focus on learning to pedal – skimping on developing your child's motor skills. And tricycles are heavy, clunky and difficult for kids to control. Operating Schedule
Special train rides begin in March -- see the events page. Normal operations start on Thursday June 14, 2012, and continue through October 28th, 2012 on the days listed on our schedule page. Thomas and Friends (Thomas the Tank Engine!) visit each year in early summer. In 2012 Thomas will visit the Midland Railway on June 1, 2 & 3 and June 8, 9 & 10, 2012!! Basic Schedule & Information:
Location The depot is located near the grain elevator on 1515 W. High Street, west of downtown Baldwin City. Baldwin City is on U.S. 56 Hwy, 4 miles east of U.S. 59 Hwy; 10 miles north of 1-35 (Ottawa) and 17 miles south of 1-70 (Lawrence). From U.S. 56, turn south onto 8th or 11th Streets, then right (west) onto High Street. Follow the signs to the Midland Railway Depot.

Northland Mothers of Multiples Support Group & Consignment Sale The Northland Mothers of Multiples is a diverse group of women who share the common bond of being mothers of twins, triplets or more. Our club offers support, friendship and insight into the challenges and joys of raising multiples. The club began in 1969 and is a 501(c)(3) Not-For-Profit group. We are affiliated with the National Organization Mothers of Twins Club and the Missouri Mothers of Twins Club. Northland Mothers of Multiples meets the second Thursday of every month at The Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 9555 N. Oak Trafficway, Kansas City, MO 64155 at 7 p.m. Our monthly meetings are a refreshing opportunity to share experiences and develop friendships with others who have or are going through the same stages of child development. Northland Mothers of Multiples is a wonderful support group primarily consisting of families with or expecting multiples in the Kansas City Northland. Most members reside in Clay county, Platte county, and additional areas throughout northern Missouri. We are here to help individuals and each other with raising multiples – expecting mommies-to-be, new mothers and veteran moms. Membership for NMOM is open to women who are expecting or are raising twins, triplets or quadruplets. Annual membership dues for NMOM are $35/year with renewals due by August 1 of each year. Dues are prorated starting in November of each year. |

Wonderscopes informal learning environment is filled with engaging play experiences in literacy, the arts and the sciences.
